The Story: Flourishing Finances
Can I be vulnerable with you for a moment? I left my apartment in Chicago with whatever could fit in my car and moved to Houston. Transferred my job down here but moved before God told me to and was homeless living out of my car for over a month. Until a friend of a friend opened their doors to me.
From there, it took me so long to get back stable, and I cried many nights. I wanted more than anything to be wealthy and make money following my dreams. Eventually I quit my job with no plan B and entered a season of hustling and grinding and was burnt out. No job paid enough, business wasn't making enough but I also kept trying different things.
What I learned from that struggle, was first, God will never leave me or forsake me even when I make not so good decisions. Second, nothing is wasted God sent so many people in my path to help me. Three, these jobs just don't pay enough.
I have challenged myself to find ways to earn the money I need to fund the lifestyle I desire while being grateful that my job at least pays the bills. Going back to work wasn't showing I failed, it showed I healed and grew. I know your story highlights the ways you are thriving too and that is beautiful.
Dear Millennial,

The Vision
I am not running from my purpose anymore. But I am also not quite sure where God is directing me. Maybe you are in a similar boat. You know you need more money but no job is paying what you need to also be able to have the time to enjoy the life you are building. But God! What if you can do it on the side? Maybe you have a dream similar to mine, you want land so you can grow your own food, but work don't pay enough to get you there. Use the gifts God has given you and monetize that. The money will flow when you are doing what you're called to do. I know everyone isn't meant to be an entrepreneur but in this day and age I believe you can still fund the lifestyle you desire.
